  • Intriguing Tale 4.5⭐️

I really enjoyed Mia and Gunner’s tale. At a young age Mia had to take responsibility for her younger sister Kira. It’s been challenging trying to raise Kira while trying to find out more about her species. Mia is an admirable individual yet I felt she should have been more organized. I’d go into more detail with that but I don’t want to spoil anything. I admittedly wasn’t a huge fan of her little sister. I couldn’t believe she did some of things she did. I loved Gunner. I can see him becoming Mia’s rock. I can’t wait to find out how the rest of their story is going to go.

  • Great read

I got this as an ARC. I loved it. I've never heard of werefoxes before but it makes sense that, if werewolves exist, werefoxes can exist also. Naturally, the foxes and the wolves don't get along together and the wolves are a threat to the foxes. Luckily for Mai, although the werewolves can identify that she is 'were', they don't know that she is a fox instead of a wolf. Mai is looking after her sister Kira, trying to not get noticed by the local werewolf pack - and then a new Alpha and new pack appear in the neighbourhood. Mai loses her job and is at risk of having Kira taken into care. Is there anything else that can go wrong? Reviewed as eBook on Goodreads on June 10, 2018

  • Amazing & Enjoyable - Great Series Beginner

Wolf's Bane by Aimee Easterling is Book 1 in the Moon Marked series. This is a well written story with interesting characters. We have foxes among wolves which is deadly for the fox. Mai is a fox, Kitsume, actually whose species was eradicated centuries earlier by the wolves and she must keep her identity hidden. Mai struggles to keep herself and her sister Kira together by cage fighting. She is approached by Gunner, a werewolf alpha, to help find a serial killer. Lot of thins are going on that keep the story moving and the characters become real. Piper Goodeve, narrator, is amazing. She brings the characters to life and places the reader in the thick of things. I highly recommend both the ebook and audio book. Received an ARC and this is my voluntary review.
