  • Epic magical battle

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This is an epic tale, both funny and with magical twists. The story comes from a different angle, a lady who turns sixty and learns that she inherited some magical abilities. Not any magic, but Magic with a k. Much to Claire’s dismay, something she doesn’t want. Strange things start to happen since she got the strange medallion gifted by her grandson Braden. She is oblivious of what she is until she ventures out to an address that was invisible to the eyes. Is she going mad, is she going crazy? Even weirder when she finds a house in the middle of nowhere accompanied by a gargoyle and a wolf shifter as her protector. But trouble seems to find a way to her when Mage’s zone into her location. I love Claire, and I so can relate to her, as getting older, you are doubting your use in society. Luckily her best friend Edi keeps her entertained and I love Edie because of her funny remarks. When Claire struggles with her magic, it is because deep down, she still fears it. Fear that she can’t control her powers and hurt the ones she loves. It is a constant battle between being doubtful and seeing the magic in action. I found a bit hard to grasp the concept of a talking gargoyle but Keven has grown onto me. A magical duo, Lucan and Keven. Then Claire finds out she has someone else in the magical corner. Will she lose her family to this craziness? I also love the mythology of the Morrigan, The phantom queen and the relation between the Arthurian legend. In all, epic magical story, with tons of Magik, action and adventure, laced with some undeniable urges of hot flashes. I definitely going to check out the following stories. The author wrote it masterfully, the book was finished before I knew.

  • What a pleasure!

Fantastic to read a paranormal fantasy where the hero isn’t 22 and just starting their lives.

  • what a wonderfull story

Merci Lydia pour cette magnifique histoire. En plus d'être bien écrite et d'avoir enfin une héroine près de mon groupe d'age, ce récit m'a fait rêver. Je vous le recommande fortement.
