  • Such a good story!

This was my first time reading Amor Towles, and now cannot wait to read Gentleman in Moscow and Rules of Civility. His descriptions made the characters and scenery come alive for me. I loved the storyline, which was what drew me to the book in the first place. Great read!

    Thanks for your feedback!

Storytelling at its finest! I loved reading this book and getting to know these characters so well.

  • Uniquely written

Absolutely excellent. He writes different novels then anyone else with beautiful descriptions.

  • Extremely disappointing

Such a disappointment after Gentleman in Moscow, which was brilliant. Duchess talked exactly like a Tarantino character in one chapter. Why were Duchess and Sally talking in the first person while the rest were in third person? None of the characters were remotely believable, the random quoting of classical literary characters was pretentious. I found every page tedious and boring. I only completed the book because a friend told me it got better towards the end - it didn't.

    Thanks for your feedback!
